Seniors' lives are far from over—they hold immense value for future generations. From a young age, I believed that individuals with limited mobility should have the option to stay at home with family rather than be placed elsewhere and forgotten.

As a shy child constantly adjusting to new schools, I turned to self-help books for confidence. This resilience carried me through when my high school counselor dismissed my dream of becoming a nurse, suggesting I be a secretary instead. At 16, I told my mother I wanted to open an elderly daycare named "Wisdom" so adult children could work knowing their loved ones were safe and engaged. She encouraged me with the words, "You can do that."

After graduating from high school in Lakenheath, England, I returned to the U.S. to pursue nursing. Though life took unexpected turns, an e-commerce business helped me grow personally and professionally. I earned my BA from North Carolina Central University and my BSN from Winston-Salem State University. In a single month, I passed my nursing boards, started a new job, and got married—just the beginning of my multitasking journey.

My passion lay in home health care, leading me to work at Liberty Home Health as Director of Office Operations for nine years. During this time, I had my daughters, Jasmine and Moriah, and faced the challenge of balancing career and family, which prayer helped me navigate.

Growing up in a military family, I traveled extensively and saw firsthand how non-American cultures cherished their elders. This shaped my deep respect for seniors. Even in my youth, I sought to support and learn from them, realizing that aging should not be seen as a decline but a stage of wisdom and value.

At Wisdom

WE UNDERSTAND CAREGIVING

Since 2006, we have helped thousands of seniors residents live happily in the comfort of their homes with compassionate care. Over those years, clients have been expressing their gratitude toward the care we provide.

The quality of care allowed us to build strategic partnership with continuing care retirement communities such like Carolina Meadows in Chapel Hill. For many years, residents we serve in those communities have been pleased to work with us. And we have been selected as part of their preferred agency in Durham to work with. We are always in the look for compassionate caregivers to maintain the level of service quality. Our rigorous hiring process allows us to find and invest in compassionate caregivers.

Our caring even expands to hospice cases where we provide personal care that give hope to our clients in hospice. And we are not surprise to see some of our clients live longer than the time to live given to them initially. That, fulfills us.

In 2016, I founded Wisdom Business Owners to assist like-minded entrepreneurs in pursuing their visions. Together, we have built a community of business owners who can leverage the knowledge and systems that have shaped Wisdom Senior Care’s success.

OUR PATH TO WISDOM SENIOR CARE

After about ten years of trials and errors running the agency, we knew as a team that something needed to change for us to rediscover fulfillment in the mission we had chosen. As the leader of this mission, 2016 was a significant turning point for both my life and the business. I had reached a point where I was physically and mentally exhausted and felt the need for a new direction. That year, God allowed me to meet Christopher McMullan, the Co-Founder of wEquipu, who helped me shift my mindset from being an entrepreneur to becoming a business owner. He recommended that I read The E-Myth, assuring me that I would see myself in the first few pages. He was right. At first, I was frustrated, but as I continued reading, my perspective changed.

The mentorship and business development coaching I received during this time not only helped me personally but also transformed my entire team. We gained a deeper understanding of the missing pieces in our journey. We clarified our business model’s foundation and strengthened our marketing efforts for market domination. The ongoing support continues to fuel our growth, and our commitment to building a strong organization from within has led us to discover new talents among our caregivers for strategic career development.

Today, the model we developed in Durham is expanding, and we are on our way to building a thriving family of Wisdom Senior Care home care business owners. With this growth, we are increasing our capacity to help more seniors and individuals in need, ensuring they can live happily and comfortably in their own homes.

We are grateful for the opportunity to serve our communities and add tremendous value to our aging population through our dedicated services.

THE EXPERIENCE WITH WISDOM

Through mentorship and business development coaching, my team and I strengthened our foundation and marketing strategies, unlocking new growth opportunities. We also began nurturing talent within our caregivers, offering them strategic career paths.

In 2016, I founded Wisdom Business Owners to support like-minded entrepreneurs. Today, our Durham model is expanding, growing a strong family of home care business owners dedicated to helping seniors live comfortably at home.
